The situation you pick and the answers you give are held in your own browser, in what is called local storage. They are not sent to our servers, and we cannot see them. Your snapshot is assembled in the browser out of those answers.
This is why the assessment can honestly ask for no name, no email and no phone number. If you close the tab without saving, there is nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was ever created. If you want to clear it from your own machine, clearing your browser data for this site removes it.
Saving your snapshot creates an account, and from that point we hold the following. Most of it only exists if you put it there.
If you arrive on a referral link from an accountant, lawyer or advisor, a code identifying who referred you is stored in your browser and recorded with your deal. This is disclosed to you on the save page before an account exists, and it is what allows that person to be paid if your business sells. What they can see about you is covered on the disclosures page.
We use a small number of service providers to run the product. They process your information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.

The workspace includes an assistant that explains offer terms, reads documents you upload and answers questions about your situation. To do that, the relevant parts of your workspace are sent to an AI service that we operate, which produces the answer and sends it back.
Two commitments about that. Your information is not used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. And the assistant is given your material only when you are using it or when you ask for something to be reviewed, never to mine your deal for other purposes.

You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct anything wrong, export all of it, or delete it. Deleting is permanent and covers every version of every document, not just the current one. Deleting your account ends this relationship: we keep nothing back as leverage.
One limit worth stating in advance. If you have signed an engagement with us and a transaction is under way, some records have to be kept for the period the law requires of a firm that advised on it. That is the exception, not the rule, and it never includes keeping your workspace open against your wishes.

This service is for people who own businesses. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
You can write to us with a privacy question, a request to see or delete your information, or a complaint about how we handled it, and we will answer.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Some provinces, including British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec, have their own commissioner who may handle it instead, depending on where you are.
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with information we already hold, we will tell account holders by email rather than quietly editing the page.
